Bio: Alex specializes in creatively untapping the potential of your commercial real estate asset through value-add tenancies, re-development, land assemblies and strategic partnerships. Through 30+ years of commercial real estate experience, Alex has developed invaluable relationships with some of Canada’s brightest, most creative and sophisticated tenants and landlords, as well as less sophisticated non-profits needing a “hand up” and a different perspective. Alex’s executive level experience has helped him develop systems and processes to identify client’s needs, develop sound options well ahead of deadline dates, prioritize tasks in order to mitigate imminent risk and then execute on a well thought-out plan. Alex has a reputation for successfully handling the most complicated and urgent files and situations including natural disasters, hazardous premises, time sensitive relocations and other force majeure matters, for which he won The “Fireman Award” in 2016 from RBC. Further Alex has a reputation of being tough but fair in his negotiations. Where matters can’t be settled, Alex has successful strategized and then managed multiple arbitration files overseeing the work of lawyers, appraisers and expert witnesses. Prior to joining Lennard, Alex was with Cushman & Wakefield, as Managing Director, overseeing RBC’s retail portfolio team where he “exceeded expectations” in every year of the mandate and received client satisfaction ratings in the mid 80s. Before Cushman, Alex held various positions of increased responsibility in corporate commercial real estate as well as an associate broker. He has concluded hundreds of successful lease and sales transactions across Canada. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree from York University in Psychology, has complete various accounting and business courses at Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as completing all courses for his CCIM designation and real estate brokerage license. Alex is a past director member on Toronto Real Estate Board’s Commercial Committee, a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award from the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, a past Big Brother of K-W as well as a donator of hundreds of hours to many non-profit community initiatives. In his spare time, Alex has been known to keep very active running and working out, skiing with his family or hiking the Bruce Trails. Alex is a fan of the Buffalo Bills, Toronto Maple Leafs and perhaps some other hard luck teams!
